Core Finance served as the exclusive buy-side advisor to Paribu, Türkiye’s leading digital asset platform, for its acquisition of CoinMENA, the MENA region’s largest local crypto exchange. The transaction is valued at up to $240 million.
This deal marks Türkiye’s largest fintech transaction to date and represents the nation’s inaugural cross-border acquisition of a digital asset exchange. The transaction exemplifies broader consolidation within the global digital asset sector, as established regional operators pursue expanded scale, regulatory compliance, and market diversification.
Through this acquisition, Paribu broadens its footprint from its Türkiye base into a region with substantial cryptocurrency adoption. The company gains two additional digital asset licenses through Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority and the Central Bank of Bahrain, positioning itself as a regulated multi-jurisdiction operator.
Paribu, a leading Turkish fintech company, emphasizes regulatory adherence, product development, and market expansion. The company launched Paribu Custody in 2024, Türkiye’s first digital asset custodian featuring proprietary ColdShield® security technology.
CoinMENA, established in 2020 by Talal Tabbaa, Dina Sam’an, and Yazan Bargouthi, operates as a licensed provider under Bahrain and Dubai oversight. The platform has secured approximately $20 million in funding and currently serves 1.5 million users across 45 countries, providing access to 50+ cryptocurrencies.
