Investing in Zigazoo - TikTok for Kids. Why we invested?

Core Finance invested in Zigazoo, a kid-focused social platform launched in 2020. Founded by educators and child development specialists Zak and Leah Ringelstein, the app addresses parental concerns about children’s screen time by offering a moderated alternative to mainstream platforms.

The platform distinguishes itself through several features: kidSAFE+ COPPA certification, human content review, and a friend-request system requiring opt-in rather than open following.

As of our investment, the app ranked fourth among iOS kids applications, with 150,000 monthly active users and month-over-month growth of 100%.

Zigazoo’s revenue model incorporates brand partnerships — over 35 channels including Peppa Pig and major entertainment companies — whereby brands post challenges for users to respond with videos.

The platform is pioneering Web3 integration through virtual currency and NFTs, positioning itself at the intersection of children’s media and emerging technology. Notable investors include Serena Ventures, Lightspeed, and celebrities like Jimmy Kimmel.
